Effective October 2, 2026
Caliber Medical Training ("Caliber", "we") runs calibermedtraining.com, including NREMT Prep, the EKG simulator, county protocol exams, online courses, continuing education (CE) and class booking. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: calibermedtraining@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address (we sign you in with one-time email codes), and if you provide them, your name, profession and certification or license number.
- Learning records: practice questions answered, exam and post-test results, course progress, course evaluations, certificates, and questions you send to an instructor.
- Class bookings and forms: the name, email, phone and details you enter when you book a class, join a waitlist or contact us.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive the amount, date, plan and the email on the purchase. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: your browser keeps a sign-in session and a few settings (for example, your last practice track) in local storage so the site works.
How we use it
- To run your account, save your progress, and give you the access you paid for.
- To issue course completion and CE certificates and keep the records that regulators and the American Heart Association require.
- To answer your questions and send emails about your account, purchases and classes.
- To send news and offers, only if you opted in. Every marketing email lets you unsubscribe.
- To keep the site secure and improve our courses.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run parts of the site for us: Supabase (accounts and database), Stripe (payments), Formspree (web forms), our email provider, and our web host. They may use your information only to provide their service.
- Certifying bodies when your course requires it: for example, the American Heart Association or NAEMT to issue your card, and California EMS approving authorities, which may audit CE records.
- Your employer, if it enrolls you: when your agency or employer provides your CE through a Caliber agency account, its training officer can see your CE completions, hours, certificates, certification expiration date and post-test scores (never your individual answers). Access ends when you leave that employer; your records stay yours.
- Your instructor or our medical director when they need it to teach, answer your questions or review course quality.
- Legal requirements: when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Advertising and measurement
We may use advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel on some pages. They tell us when someone who saw our ad signs up or buys, so we can see which ads work. When a tool like this is active, Meta may receive information such as the page visited and a hashed (scrambled) email or event, under Meta's privacy policy. You can control ad personalization in your Facebook/Instagram ad settings and block these tools with your browser's tracking settings. We never send your learning records, test scores or certification numbers to advertisers.
How long we keep it
- CE records (completion, post-test results, evaluations) are kept for at least four years, as California EMS regulations require.
- Course and certification records are kept as long as the certifying body requires.
- Other account data is kept while your account is open. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see below).
Your choices
- See, correct or delete your information: email calibermedtraining@gmail.com. We'll reply within 30 days. Records we are legally required to keep (such as CE records) are kept until that period ends.
- Stop marketing emails: use the unsubscribe line in any email, or reply STOP.
- Cancel a subscription: on the NREMT Prep page under "Manage / Cancel Subscription".
Security
Student sign-in uses one-time email codes; staff accounts use passwords, and administrator accounts also require two-factor authentication. Data is encrypted in transit, and access to student records is limited by role (student, instructor, medical director, admin). No system is perfectly secure, so contact us right away if you think your account was misused.
Children
Our online services are for people 13 and older. Some in-person classes accept minors; a parent or guardian books for them. If you believe a child under 13 gave us personal information online, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell account holders by email.
